Hi,
I coordinate and teach the primary and advanced care paramedic programs at a college in Ontario, Canada. I'm always eager to learn from other educators and share what I have learned as well. To see some of the online education I have developed you can visit mt blog: Paramedic Tutor.

cheers
Rob

Bill, we have been using an online educational resource for all of our exams in the EMT-B classes we teach. We have it set up so that it mimics the National online testing format. This does a couple of things. First of all it gets students ready to take an online test by exposing them to the computer based process. We found before we started this that some students were so intimidated by a computer that they did horrible on the exam.

Another benefit of using online exams for the class is that it does not take up valuable class time for exams. We would rather spend class time on skills etc.

I visited with Jon Frieson last Saturday about your EMT-B class using a web based site to provide questions and tests for Students. He seemed real interested is this program. He is still focusiing on Scope of Practice curricula and approaches to testing of new skills for EMT-I's. Accounltability of competience in new skill levels will be a sign off Challenge. You would make a good candidate for the traiin the trainer classes upcoming.

I have placed over 25 tests with over 2000 questions on my website for EMT-B students to use as practice exams for their national written exam. They are also useful as a way to check your knowledge. No charge for these exams. Go to www.wkmec.org.
